overview

our mission

To coordinate and leverage policy and resources that empower community partners to address homelessness in Kings and Tulare County.

Our History

The Kings/Tulare Homeless Alliance is a broad-based coalition of homeless housing and service providers, advocates, government representatives and consumers working together to shape regional planning and decision-making. Since its inception in 1999, the Alliance has worked tirelessly on its mission of building and sustaining an integrated system for homelessness that promotes quality of life by improving access to housing and to health, education, employment and other supportive services connected to or as part of varied levels of homeless support in the bi-county region.

Our work is focused in the following areas with Kings and Tulare Counties:

o   Identifying the needs of homeless households and prioritizing state and federal funding to meet these needs;

o   Coordinating joint applications for homeless housing and service funding through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Continuum of Care Program Funding;

o   Tracking trends and adjusting priorities to meet the changing needs of homeless households; and

o   Advocating together for increased services and funding to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
